Re NY-13, Vito paid $26,000 in January for a poll. He's worried and is bringing in big gun Dick Cheney for a fundraiser this Monday at the home of David and Anne Koch of Koch Industries, well known environmental pollluters. Protests are planned starting at 10AM at 71st and Park where the Koch's residence is located.

As for the 2 candidates, Harrison has the support of the clubs and the residents of CD-13. Recchia doesn't even live in the district and the only reason he's running is because he's term limited from the City Council in 2009 and is job hunting. Nadler (won't impeach) is supporting Recchia (Recchia actually lives in Nadler's district) and have been wooing Pelosi. Recchia is also being supported by the Brooklyn Machine (Vito Lopez). Recchia's money does not come from within the district but Harrison's does, that's why there's such a difference in the amount of money they've gotten. Recchia is in the hands of developers like the Sitt family/Thor Equities and this is where his money comes from.
