Post-Standard front pages Maffei’s fundraising numbers
Maffei’s first quarter haul (of 330K) made the front page of the Post-Standard this morning (here’s the pdf). His possible Republican opponnents, David Gay, Dale Sweetland, Bob Oaks, and Mark-Paul Serafin raised nada. Literally nothing. As in zero dollars.
The big question in NY-25 is if the Republican candidates will be able to raise enough money to make the race at all competitive. I’d say the odds are against it, given the anemic fundraising numbers we’re seeing from Republicans nationwide and especially locally.
Slightly off-topic: does a guy named “Mark-Paul Serafin” really think he can beat a guy named “Bob Oaks” in a Republican primary?
