Unfortunately my OCR isn’t working so I can’t paste in the text.  But read the letter about Mr Cluff.

This. Is. Wonderful.

Tis truly akin to Christmas. I love watching Minarik in the spotlight. He’s a perfect jerk and actually comes across worse when he’s on defense.

Could you imagine if Democrats had to toe the line concerning disloyalty? There’d be none of us left!

Wow…although I am not surprised and more over, sadly, Morelle is not exempt in the behavior in allowing the continuance of disloyal party members as well (If what is said that Minarik is consulting Cluff, is indeed true). I guess its all part of the game.

if morelle ran things like minarik we would always have candidates for all races, even against their will. but morelle actually respects the decisions made by others without threatening, bullying, etc. them into doing things they don’t want to do. granted, every party leader must flex some muscle now and again, but to compare morelle to minarik is just plain crazy.

Dennis

Your read into my comment a lot more than what was actually said. I said that Morelle like Minarik allows the tolerance of disloyal party members to influence their decision making. I said nothing of his management style or how he handles candidates. Please don’t read any criticism of Joe as an affrontary to the Democratic party. This a case is based on my dealings in the higher echelons of he MCDC. Let’s not forget Dennis, that both men are politicians and not to compare with the way things could/should be run is turning away from holding them accountable.

I disagree. There is no comparison between Minarik’s style of management, which reads like an oppressed nation…I don’t know whether to feel bad for the Mendon GOP members, or to cheer that they have been able to escape their Bosnia.

Reading those letters and conceptualizing those meetings in my mind sends a chill down my spine. The level of control exerted by Minarik/Brooks over the GOP in Monroe County (and I’m certain across NYS when Minarik was state chair) is beyond normal - it’s almost cult-like - and I believe borders on mental illness. I envision him in his final years locked up in a padded cell somewhere, straight jacket tightly applied, while he yells out famous quotes from other failed dictators through his froth-covered lips.

Morelle has managed to continue to build party membership and committee membership even during times when the GOP have controlled the local, county, state and federal governments and was outpaced by the funding advantage the GOP had in job patronage and payoff (and as the FBI investigations of the NRC show, even theft of funds).

There is a HUGE difference between a self-imposed “loyalty” policy of a Minarik control obsessed management, and a Morelle “keep the faith” organization that even through impossible times kept trying.

There is no comparison to being exhausted from effort, versus mentally defeated by manifestation and control and fear. We don’t know if those listed in Mendon had jobs attached to their loyalty that will be extinguished as well. I suspect his wrath is severe, and there is much more than just a committee membership at stake.

Morelle rode out the storms - some of the worst this state and country will ever encounter, and kept it together. Give credit where credit is due.

Don Irvine works for the county parks. Muffy Meisenzahl runs 911. We shall see.

“The demise of the Republican Party can be directly attributable to the poor performance of the Mendon Republican Committee and its membership.”

Well, no wonder he canned them, then….

as I was reading Minarik’s letter something dawned on me. at least the Mendon GOP has elected Publicans in the recent past. why hasn’t he abolished the Brighton committee yet? they haven’t won squat since before he was in charge. what about Irondequoit? that was an embarrassing, high visibility loss. why are they still intact?

there is definitely more to this than meets the eye. does Cluff have some kind of dirt on Stevie? it is almost as if he is protecting him after the committee’s letter.
