Computer recycling-making an effort
Got an old computer that you need to unload? Not sure what to do with it? Saturday is computer recycling day here in Monroe County. WHEC has the story here.
Continuing her successful efforts to promote a cleaner, greener environment, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that the County will host a computer recycling event on April 19.
I question the phrase, “successful efforts” in regards to Brooks. Anyone know of other efforts that she has made, successful, or otherwise?
Still, this is an effort and to be commended.

Funny how I heard the exact same report on WBEE this morning, and I had the exact same question … where the hell is the Monroe County Transfer Station. Sure would be nice if they would give us that information, as you know, its kind of important. If its out in Hilton, I probably won’t bother. Yes, I know I can call and find out, but to me the whole point of reporting (and I’m not criticizing you, ladkiddo with a lower case l, I’m criticizing the people who put out this report in the first place) is to let people know information that is useful. I shouldn’t have to call to know basic information like this.

You need to tell them exactly what you are bringing and your appointment is for a specific time between the hours of 9AM and 2PM.
brooks has been recycling republican hacks to various degrees of success.
The same recycling station has been in use for years on Central Ave. Why do we need Maggie to create a whole new piece of crap? In fact, if I’m not mistaken, the Central Ave place is part of the Academy for Career Development, which gives free education in computers to community members. Top that, Magpie.
there is always an e-waste event to benefit the Zoo every summer at a place on Mt Read. they don’t require appointments.
