D&C take on local Congressional races
Well, the Messenger Post had a great round up of local Congressional Races. The D&C follows with this article. Seems the GOP has a better shot at finding Susan than candidates.
Anyway - here is my take, short single sentence/sentence fragment summary of each race in Jill Tierni’s article titled, GOP seeking congressional candidates:
NY25: Too many GOP possibilities, no probabilities
NY26: Powers gets endorsed and gets a a primary.
NY28: Who ran against Slaughter last time?
NY29: Kuhl is the default GOP best shot to retain a seat because he is the only sitting GOP congressmen in WNY.
Re Kuhl - I love how he has been elevated to be the GOP’s best chance to retain a GOP seat in WNY because he is a SITTING Congressman.
While you are at it -Check out Reynolds on Bellavia and tell me this isn’t someone talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Though Republicans have been courting candidates who have significant personal wealth that would help fund their campaigns, Reynolds said a candidate’s bank account isn’t as important if he or she can attract donors and support from political organizations that help fund campaigns, known as 527s.
“I think the world of David Bellavia, but I don’t think he has a lot of money,” Reynolds said.
“I think that what (a candidate) needs is the ability to get your message out,” he said. “There’s certainly been a lot of groups wanting to weigh in on campaigns.”
Remember Reynolds was the NRCC head, the group responsible for fielding GOP candidates and providing funding to Congressional Races.
Personally speaking - I think Bellavia will get tossed under the GOP bus when the GOP county heads meet.

Morelle: “Frankly, Republicans are bankrupt of ideas.” love this - good for him.
