It played in Peoria (nearby anyway)

The biggest national political news of the year so far is Democrat Bill Foster’s stunning win in Illinois’ 14th Congressional district — Denny Hastert’s old district. The victory has been chalked up to all kinds of things, such as the fact that the guy he ran against, Jim Oberweis, is a whack job, but one advertisement Foster ran seems particularly important. Oberweis advocated staying another ten years in Iraq — you can see the ad Foster ran about this below.

If ten years in Iraq is political poison, then how bad is McCain’s proposed hundred years there? And how much will local Republicans be hurt if they don’t distance themselves from McCain’s century-long occupation plan?
