Request for Plan B at County legislature Meeting tonight
Remember the ruling against the unFAIR plan? Tonight the Dems will introduce legislation asking County Executive Maggie Brooks to come up with a Plan B now in the event her appeal fails. I don’t have the details of the proposal, but I would hope the Plan is developed sooner rather than later. It is expected that the County Republicans will also vote for the proposal.
Maybe Maggie can have her crack Budget team work on Plan B. The same budget team she offered to the schools and forgot to engage over the last 5 years which got us to this $29 million dollar gap.
You can see for yourself, assuming the Sheriff didn’t hear threats on the radio or the public isn’t being screened.
There is a Legislature Meeting tonight:
April 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
Monroe County Legislature Chambers
39 West Main St. 4th Floor
Rochester, NY 14614

Innocent question - is this grandstanding? Obviously a plan B will have to be developed if Plan A looses on appeal.
Grandstanding?
Come on Elmer. Contingency planning is essential. Actually the Republicans are going along as well. Frankly things don’t look good for the appeal given the 5-0 verdict
But heck for arguments sake - let’s say the County wins the appeal - isn’t looking for additional ways to wisely invest our tax dollars something they should be doing anyway.
Maggie Brooks needs to be looking for ways to invest our tax dollars wisely every day. So she should be working on a Plan B already.
That she isn’t or is not disclosing means she is not governing wisely.
The post said that Plan B would be developed “if” the appeal lost, not before the outcome is known. If it had said “before” the appeal is heard than I would have understood a little better
Fair enough - I’ve edited the original post accordingly. it is difficult to edit ones’ own stuff.
But remember you asked about grandstanding - how did you get there? No matter.
It would be grandstanding if the Democrats wanted to do nothing now, just after the appeal was dismissed. Once plan A is defeated, it would be obvious to anyone that a Plan B would have to be devised
You never cease to represent your party platform well Elmer.
1. We wouldn’t be talking about an appeal had not that thing you call your love interest decided to steal the sales tax money.
2. It can hardly be considered grandstanding when your lover girl NEVER did a budget that allows for her own failings. Jeez, we’re supposed to feel sorry for you or her because she actually has to do her job? NOT.
3. Here’s an easy way to save some money quick - let’s can Dicaro and the rest of the hooded marauders from the Water Authority.
4. Let’s start auditing Gates and find out how much money they’ve been hiding.
“Problem resolved. The budget crisis is balanced.”
Oh yeah, she DID say that, didn’t she…how FAIR is that Elmer boy?
jiminybizbo - It is too bad you never get excited about anything
That’s the great part about being me Elmer…when I get excited - I go out and make something happen. You’ll know when I’m excited. You’ll be angry when you watch the news and the Dems accompish what your failing fish can’t.
Actions Elmer, always speak louder than words. Unless you’re Maggie Brooks, and can’t balance a budget or plan for one even when she has to.
You better take those posters of her down. She’s yesterdays news Elmo, and I can only hope that the group that is investigating having her removed from office succeed.
Then it’ll be drinks on the house! It’s all about the accountability Elmo. Doesn’t that just tickle you in all the right places?
It may not be in Rochester, but lack of accountability is also a Democrat problem in other places. Seems they like to embezzle
Yeah, that assessor in Greece who embezzled all of that tax money with Kodak, RG&E and others was a….REPUBLICAN. And that WAS in Rochester.
Try again!
Was thinking about the mayor in Detroit and the Governor in Puerto Rico
Elmer, I’ll match you embezzler for embezzler any day…try Dick Cheney and George W. Bush…and they can’t balance budgets or come up with plan B on anything either.
Show me where they have embezzled anything - and I’ll betcha when George Bush leaves the White House he’ll also leave the silverware and furniture
Just ignore him - he’s becoming like a dog with fleas. Leave him outside and throw him a bone every once in a while.
Thanks Jiminy, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make ‘em drink. Elmer, c’mon, say it with me…Hali-bur-ton.
No comments on Jed and Granny, er, I mean Bill and Hillary stealing the furniture?
Congratulations. You’re now the town LIAR.
And for the umpteenth time so you can get it through your brain, it iwas YOUR party who further wasted even more tax dollars with the LIES propulgated from the BUSH ADMINISTRATION, AND SPONSORS LIKE YOU ELMER:
The GSA responded to Ungar in February and issued a statement Friday, saying, “The condition of the real property was consistent with what we would expect to encounter when tenants vacate office space after an extended occupancy.”
Speaking for the Bush administration in an April 18 letter, Phillip Larsen, the director of the White House Office of Administration, told the GAO that it could not document any damage or repairs.
The GAO notified Barr last month that it had ended its inquiry, finding no grounds to continue. “This is very disappointing,” Barr responded in a letter to the GAO. “And it is a disservice to the American taxpayers who deserve a full accounting of taxpayer property.”
I had put up a comment in regards to the Bill and Hillary thing, but then I realized, Elmer’s just baiting us and best not to qualify with a response. Because, really, we’ve gotten off message here. What does it have to do with the county leg and their pathetic budget?
Yep - thanks -
A United Press International Story:
“Only gifts valued at more than $250 that were kept by the Clintons need to be reported on disclosure forms,” Kauffmann said. The Clintons have been under fire for taking almost $200,000 of gifts with them when they left the White House in January. Later, they announced they would pay for $86,000 worth of the gifts.
After Jim McDaniel of the National Park Service conducted an examination of the gifts in question, he said several of the gifts taken by the Clintons belonged to the White House. On Friday, 19 items, valued at about $30,000, were shipped by the Clintons from their Chappaqua, N.Y.,home back to Washington
