Tobin on Dunning party switch
Tom Tobin has piece up over at the D&C Blog about the Dunning Switch
This page supported Dave Dunning in the Chili supervisor race because we thought he was a breath of fresh air. You know, the kind that doesn’t play politics. Average guy committed to openness. But even an average guy should know that you don’t run under one party’s banner and then toss it away for its adversary just months later. That’s either dumb or conniving and neither is a good trait for Dunning to display.
My favortite line -
That’s either dumb or conniving and neither is a good trait for Dunning to display.
Couldn’t agree more.

You go, Tom!
In this case, Dunning is both dumb and conniving. He’s a liar, that’s for sure and he is a really bad politician. This guy looks like a spineless puppet to both parties. Republicans don’t like wimps either, and that’s the way Dunning comes across. Whoever was counseling this guy hung him out to dry. Dunning will be a Republican joke at all their dinner party’s for the next few years. Yes, Dave the awkward silence you hear when you walk into a room happens when those Republican “friends” are dissing you behind your back.
Has anyone here has been following the discussions on the chili blogs — especially the d & c blog. Dunning has posted a couple of responses that are very lame. Basically he says I don’t have to give my “private” reasons. But politics is public activity and leaders have to tell the public the reason for their actions.
i agree with you about the politics is a public activity. if he could give some real reasons it might make sense (maybe?), but this is bait and switch. like someone said it is probably a turn off for voters and officials from both parties.
This is great that Tobin said this. I couldn’t agree more.
if anyone noticed there is a small d & c editorial today calling for Dunning to to publically explain his switch to the voters — such as a state of the town speech. A couple of Chili bloggers also said Dunning should go on the public access channel there.
