Breaking News: Rochesterturning receives a COMIDA grant

At a catered luncheon at the new SlushFunders (TM) restaurant downtown, the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA) announced that Rochesterturning (um, that would be this blog) received a COMIDA benefits in exchange for creating a vibrant progressive community.

Said the well-heeled Judy Seil, “They deserve it. They provide a valuable service to the community like the dentists, hotels and athletic clubs to which we give COMIDA tax benefits and we don’t want them relocating to Italy, Rome, Mexico, Panama, Poland, Cuba or, God forbid, out of New York State.”

Jon Greenbaum of Metro Justice commented,

“Gosh darn, We have been trying to get COMIDA’s attention for a long time. I suppose we will have to console ourselves, as we redouble or efforts. But heck, thanks for the free lunch!”

Rochesterturning is obligated to a minimum of a single FTE front pager (Grievous Angel fits that bill nicely), New commenters (that would be you) and overbytes of information and agita for purveyors of closed government, machine politics, unbridled patronage and generally all things local GOP.

Congratulations! How strange, because today in a special election, I was made County Executive of Fantasyland.

I suppose the first thing you will do is buy up 10 houses in a row somewhere in the city, knock them all down, and building your new HQ, complete with a free lunch everyday for Jon Greenbaum.

I knew I should have been bringing sweet treats to the RT staffers. Is it too late to amend my wicked ways?

Since you’re only obligation is to create and maintain ONE job, can I possibly talk the rest of you into taking the money and joining me on an all expense paid trip to Brazil? There’s this great collection of switch grass and pine mulk I’m just dying to put a Bic to! Road trip - RT Style!

[...] we know how the pay to play stuff works having recently received our own COMIDA grant. But this isn’t a humorous April Fools [...]
