More on the MCC Presidential Selection Process? GOP wants to scrap the current MCC Search process
Done reading Grievous Angel’s post about closed door selection @ MCC? Well - this one is even more troubling. Check out the City News article outlining a letter from John Parrinello to Richard Guon. Where he argues in favor of scrapping the current selection process and starting a new one because of the unfavorable publicity.
Asked if he wants the current finalists notified that they are no longer finalists, Parrinello said, “No, no, no.” The board should meet and vote either to discontinue the current process or continue considering the current four finalists.
“Unfortunately,” Parrinello said, “the process has been flawed. And the publicity has not been favorable to MCC.”
Gee, I wonder where that unfavorable publicity came from?
Just go over and read the entire article.
John Parrinello, the new GOP front man.

Don’t allow that to happen! They got caught because the job description WAS advertised on MCC’s site til they got caught - then they took it down because it clearly shows that adding Kessler and Smith was a violation of State law!
DO NOT ALLOW THIS PROCESS TO START OVER - HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE - There is no way they can even brush Bill Smith’s hair under the current application process as defined and posted on their site. Fortunately, many of us got copies of it and did screen captures prior to it going *poof*.
SO SAD - TOO BAD PARINELLO!
jiminy…please clarify. How was adding Kessler and Smith a violation of state law? A terrible mistake, political hackery at its community disrupting best, yes…but a violation of state law too?
Yes, posted jobs are done in accordance with NYS Labor Law and EEOC requirements. This job *was* posted on MCC’s site and has since been removed.
Here is a capture of the data as posted. You will note the interview deadlines, as well as the job requirements which neither of these 2 individuals meet the stated requirements on, let alone that adding them in March is a violation. Let’s say someone in Boston were interested, saw the deadlines, didn’t apply. Now that others are being “added” on the “short list”, this violates the spirit of the law, by practicing discriminatory policies on hiring policies and deadlines for applications/interviews.
What Parinello is trying to do is throw the entire initial process out, so that all of the initial deadlines and requirements get tossed with it. If allowed, it will be up to a challenger legally to file a complaint.
That’s why he CANNOT be allowed to do this. They are wise to this already, and have pulled all references to the information below from the public view:

Looks like they may have put it back up today…but I haven’t had time to cross compare the old data with the new to see if anything was changed, or they simply changed their minds and decided to leave it up, and throw out the whole process and start over.
Uh, Mr. Parrinello? Yeah, everyone realizes the process is flawed, but the resulting publicity is not unfavorable to MCC as much as it is unfavorable to the political party (which just so happens to be Mr. Parrinello’s political party) that turned an acceptable process into a flawed process.
Nice try but it still doesn’t fly. Since when does anyone in the GOP give a flying **** about publicity in any situation they have tried to commandeer?
His motives are clear. The process should stand.
Too bad, so sad. Should have done the homework first, instead of another attempt at ramming it. There’s your legacy.
Jiminybizbo makes no sense:
So because Rethuglicans don’t care what we think, we should stop pointing out their ridiculous arguments? I certainly don’t agree. Furthermore, I can imagine a person finding this blog who hasn’t formed strong opinions, and I would hope that Rethuglican’s ridiculous arguments are pointed out as being ridiculous and we have made a convert.
You stated you were concerned about the reputation of MCC. So we should give them a pass card and let them start the process over because of negative publicity they created? That’s ridiculous.
The original search stands. Any attempt to throw that out is an attempt to circumvent the published policy, qualifications and process of the search and eventual recruitment.
And that dear Paige, makes perfect sense.
I stated nothing of the sort. I was rebutting Mr. Parrinello’s statement where he cast doubts on MCC’s reputation.
Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.
