NY-26: Jack Davis’ Weird Campaign Strategy
So, is anyone else having a hard time figuring out Davis’ campaign strategy? I mean, it’s so consistent, and yet weird, there has to be some logic behind it. Why else would he:
- insult the voters in 2006 (and so far in 2008) by not bothering to campaign?
- insult downticket candidates by not helping them out (see above)?
- insult Dem county and town chairs? (And claim he’s got support, but then, oops, it’s confirmed he doesn’t.)
- insult the grassroots (see above 3) and netroots (compare NO outreach with Jon Powers’ outreach for almost a year)?
- insult folks in favor of fair election practices by challenging the Millionaire’s Law in court, saying that it’s too unfair to really rich people? (And draw the ire of the nation’s largest progressive website while he’s at it…)
In spite of being totally blown out (shut out, at this point?) in endorsements across the district, he’s still got his stacks ‘o cash. I believe he’s done his first ad buy. In fact, RT has an exclusive sneak preview of his first campaign commercial:

Oh! It sounds like “You Don’t Know Jack!”
