Western NY Dems dissed by Erie Co. Republicans?

“In our area, Western New York, we just tend to be better at this than the Democrats on uniting behind one candidate and avoiding these primaries altogether,”—Nick Langworthy, executive director of the Erie County Republican Party, as reported in The Liberty Lounge.

Excuse me?  And this is a good thing?  Democrats like to hear all sides, like to give people a chance to ensure we get the best candidate to represent the people.  Apparently, Republicans like to choose the best candidate to stay in power and the process of getting there and representing the people is not so important.  I think I see a pattern here (PD, MCC, anyone?).
