Good Corning Leader piece on Massa/Kuhl
F29th (with the help of reader Elmer) points to a good editorial by Joe Dunning in the Corning Leader on the Massa/Kuhl race. The central thrust of the piece is something I believe to be true, but which is rarely said in the DC media media (I guess we’re just smarter out here in the hinterlands): that voters despise Bush so much that they will turn out to vote against anyone who is associated with him. Rotten highlights the following quote from Dunning, which hits the nail on the head:
If you consider Bush one of the worst presidents ever — think a foreign policy like Lyndon Johnson’s (Vietnam) and a domestic plan like Herbert Hoover’s (The Depression ) — then it would be hard to look favorably on his supporters. That’s the battle Kuhl must overcome to get back to Washington.
The American people really dislike George W. Bush. That is the central reality of the races in NY-25, NY-26, and NY-29.
