My Country Invaded Iraq and All I got was ….

Why we have Expensive Gas
Why we have Expensive Gas

Well -Caught this LTE in Sunday’s Democrat and Chronicle.

In response to the March 10 article “Studies: Iraq war will cost $12 billion a month” (Page 3A): Am I to understand this correctly? The debt incurred by the United States (taxpayers) for the war will exceed $1.7 trillion by the year 2017. Currently, the American (taxpayer) consumer is in sight of paying $4 per gallon at the gas pump.

Then why can’t Iraq’s oil industry pay us back by exclusively supplying us with cheaper oil, thereby lowering the price at the pump while reducing the financial cost of this war? I am not an economist, but hmm.

Yeah, I’ll bet you aren’t an economist are you…

Any comments?

(it’s a real bumper sticker btw)
