Breaking…Driscoll won’t run in NY-25

You can take Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll’s name off the list of potential candidates for the congressional seat to be vacated by retiring Congressman Jim Walsh.
A press release sent to CBS5 this morning indicated Mayor Matt Driscoll, after considering a possible congressional bid for the past month, will not enter the race for the 25th district.
Driscoll had been considering a run in the Democratic primary for some time. Â In the end, though, I think that Maffei had too much cash on hand and too much institutional support to make running against him feasible.
