More on RenSquare - Did the D&C Editorial Board and Brooks Kiss and Make up?

When should you get credit for something.  When it is earned or in advance?

Well, If you are Maggie Brooks - apparently you get advanced credit from the D&C editorial Board.  See, she is now all about open honest government.  And the D&C is fawning all over her.  Aw come on Moderate Man - we expect better from the D&C Editorial board.  I realize you have been critical of Maggie in the past over RenSquare but give credit, if it is deserved, when it is earned.  From an Editorial today

But it’s encouraging that she and the Main and Clinton board are doing more to open the process to scrutiny, to take questions and in general to dispel the notion that this is a $230 million project being developed primarily behind closed doors.

Look - a few scattered meetings does not make for open government.

Remember this?  Brooks held a meeting at the Rotary Club yesterday March 5th (got to be a Rotarian to go) and the D&C covered the event.

A public presentation will be held in May.

By April 2009, the Main and Clinton Local Development Corp., a board that oversees the project, will decide whether Renaissance Square will be built.

Brooks did not break any news at the Rotary event but wanted to inform the community about the project and is looking at opportunities to make more presentations, said her spokesman, Noah Lebowitz.

So we are not breaking any news, decisions get made in 2009, 2 months from now there will be a public meeting.  Brooks gets credit for having a Public meeting that hasn’t happened yet?

Got to do better than that Mr Lawrence.  Give her credit when she actually does something

See, it’s a promise of a meta-meeting. In Rochester, we’re all about meta.

Did you see Channel 13’s story yesterday? She refused to sit down with them or show proof of how the $15 million was spent. How embarassing for the D&C board.

i was at the nazareth arts center press conference today seated between robach and maggie. during the q and a, a young woman asked a question to the naz prez that started with the assumption ren sq’s theatre space was done. (how dare she!?) maggie got a little upset and asked robach who she was and why would she make such a statement. he didn’t know. then after someone else asked a question, the woman asked another question built on the premise ren sq wasn’t going to happen. again maggie got all squirmy and was asking others who and where this reporter was from. it was great. i had to go meet this person and tell her that she ruffled maggie’s feathers a bit (because i am not sure anyone could tell because we were on stage and maggie wasn’t part of the q and a).
