More Repurcussions from the special election

Looks like the union leaders in New York State have to start thinking about betting on a different horse. the special election in the 48th, with Darrell Aubertine flying through the finish gate first has sent a ripple through the state, and the union leaders may be changing allegiances and looking for the winning horse. From WAMC Northeast Public Radio Blog: (my link)

Who would have thought the day would come when there would be so many Democrats in the state that no matter how the Republicans asked the computers to draw them districts where they could not lose, one day the giant computer would say to Bruno, “Sorry, Boss, we just haven’t got enough Republicans in New York to retain control.”

[snip]

Now that we are on the precipice, you had better believe that there are some very nervous union leaders out there. Of course, I am sure some guy named Joe or Norman or Sol is saying, “Not to worry. When the Democrats are about to take over we’ll jump ship and start giving our phone banks and money to them.” Well, folks, that day is here. It has already begun.

Yup, it’s time to pony up to a horse of a different color, and that color is blue!

Having had small children in my house for 22 years, I often find myself viewing serious political and current events through the lens of childrens stories. This essay, especially the “Sorry Boss” line, brings the Snow White story to mind. “Snow White is the fairest in the land.”
