City News wacky LTE of the week
From City’s website comes this little gem in response to the county’s appeal of a court decision on benefits for gay married couples:
I’m not a Maggie supporter but the law is the law…. should we change the law for killers and other law breakers just because it doesn’t suit them?
Whoa…., beep, beep, back the truck up! How did we get from gay couples to killers so quickly? This kind of logic reminds me of a button I picked up in DC at a protest:
Gay marriage will lead to bestiality marriage just like women voting led to hamsters voting.

That is truly a classic LTE.
Um, that logic could be applied to any proposal to change any law. If “the law is the law” - immutable - then we could save a ton of money by simply getting rid of the entire legislative process… Stupid.
