More cowbell
It’s been a slow news here at the RochesterTurning Center of Excellence in Lousiville, Kentucky, so I’m going to do a twofer Thursday thing and write another post about NY-25. After all, it is the most hotly contested race in the whole country according to no less of an authority than the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza. This, too, is via WalshWatch (from the Post-Standard):
Randy Wolken, a Central New York business and civic leader, plans to announce today that he will seek the Republican nomination to run for the congressional seat of retiring Rep. James Walsh.
Wolken, 43, of Syracuse, will become the second Republican to announce his candidacy for the 25th Congressional District seat.
Former state fair Director Peter Cappuccilli declared himself a candidate on Sunday for the seat, which Walsh, 60, has occupied for 10 consecutive terms.
I don’t know much about either of the Republican candidates, but it sounds like the big names they had been hoping for haven’t materialized.
