Al Gore, one more time

Al Gore is laying low, for now, and may wait until the convention to make his move. No, not as a candidate, as I had so fervently wished at the beginning of this campaign season, but as a “peace-maker”. From truthout.org:

Democratic Party officials said that in the past week Mr. Gore and other leading Democrats had held private talks as worry mounted that the close race between Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton could be decided by a group of 796 party insiders known as superdelegates. The signs that party elders are weighing whether and how to intervene reflects the extraordinary nature of the contest now and the concern among some Democrats that they not risk an internal battle that could harm the party in the general election.

I know that this is not a local issue, but being Hillary is still our senator, I’m taking poetic license here.

Glad to know Al can have an impact on the outcome. I just appreciate the chance to write about him one more time. And, forgive me, but I must also put up a picture.
