Even More on Voting Machines - who is selecting which machine

Well - there was the demo with pics, a follow-up and now see the selection.

So from Bo Liparisi’s Election blog via TAP

Currently, only one County Board of Elections chose the LibertyVote DRE (Hamilton), three chose Premier’s Automark (Albany, Schenectady, and Rockland), one chose ES&S’s Automark (New York City), and two whose choice is still unknown (Cayuga, Ulster). All other counties have selected the Sequoia ImageCast Ballot Marking Device/Scanner combination. At the moment, no county has picked the Avante DRE.

A complete list is here.

Counties lock in their selections on Tuesday.

The machine we saw in Rochester was the Sequoia ImageCast.

Monroe County selected the Sequoia ImageCast

Does this mean that their selections (that are locked in on Tuesday) are final for the 2009 election? Or are they final for the 2008 election as a supplement to the lever style machines?

I believe both. Some machines will be will be deployed this year the rest will be deployed next year.
