Hey D&C News Editor - you can do better than this…

Just a quick post - focusing only on title of the article titled, Public projects, big frustrations: Are we jinxed?, by Steve Orr, about the failure of many publicly funded projects to truly take off.

…Are we jinxed?

What, we have to get some Shaman, or witchdoctor to save us? Jinxed? Maybe we can get the stars of Medium or Ghost Whisperer to come to Rochester.

I found that word, inserted into the title of s NEWS article in our newspaper, curious.

I’ll read the article and offer my opinions later - After a quick read, I thought there were a lot of details worth discussing.

but “Jinxed”?

Maybe if we sacrifice the “home run” planning, short-term interests, divisive politics, closed and secret dealing and the large project will be our salvation mentality on the alter of common sense - our “jinx” will be over.

More later…

What would you sacrifice to remove our “jinx”?

I saw the headline this morning, but didn’t have time to read the article. But it was obvious from the word “jinxed” that the article wasn’t going to dig deeply (if it would dig at all) into the planning failures behind these public projects. And I certainly didn’t expect the D&C to call out cronyism to provide political supporters with huge amounts of public funds and tax benefits.

I await your summary!
