Monroe County to finally recognize Domestic Partner benefits???
Will the Monroe County government recognize domestic partner benefits?
In light of the NYS appellate court ruling that says gay marriages recognizes elsewhere must be recognized in New York recall that in September - ladkiddo and I attended a Monroe County Leg meeting. The County was getting ready to ram through what was to become the unFAIR plan and we were going to witness it. Well, it didn’t happen at that meeting but we discovered that as of September 2007 - Monroe County did not offer domestic partner benefits. I believe they still don’t.
Ladkiddo and I authored two posts both worth a reread.
Ladkiddo asks the sarcastic question is my partner more deserving than your partner? I followed up with video and disdain because the the place that claims Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony is not out front on this issue as well.
The City of Rochester and some towns like Brighton do offer domestic partner benefits. The question is, will Maggie Brooks and her GOP majority finally follow suit.
Will we earn our place in the continuation of the our area’s historical legacy. Will we recognize domestic partners in Monroe County?
