Still more on NY-25
Here’s the CNN vote-by-county page for NY-25. It’s worth glancing at these numbers, as they suggest to me that it is unlikely a Republican from Monroe County will run for the seat. The numbers are below the fold. But here’s the key facts:
- * Out of 207,000 votes cast, 145,000 — about 2/3 — were from Onondaga County.
- * About 35,000 — about 1/6 — were from Monroe County.
- * About 25,000 — about 1/8 — were from Wayne County.
- * About 3,000 — a little over 1 percent — were from Cayuga County
- * Maffei won Monroe and Onondaga narrowly, while Walsh won by a lot in Wayne and Cayuga.
Add it all up and I don’t think a candidate from Monroe County makes much sense.

I love this post.
Don’t forget that if she ran and somehow won, Spitzer would appoint her replacement.
“She” meaning who– Brooks?
Actually, if either Dinalfo or Brooks ran and won, Spitzer would appoint the replacement. But, in my comment above, I was referring to Brooks.
