The MM has their story now, tied up in a bow. They only cover horse races, lean towards two-horse races, and this one is locked into the "oh dear, black v. woman" hand-wringer drama plot line. Case closed.

Speaking about that stupid plot line, I've found myself wondering at times over the past few weeks about the strange position an African-American woman must find herself in (Michelle Obama excepted), vis-a-vis the "black v. woman" "dilemma." One of those complicated intersections of identity politics, certainly. Historically a complicated problem, suddenly made very real.

Yow. I've been mourning the loss of Joe Biden from the race, who on international affairs, for sure, was the voice of sanity and experience in a vast wasteland. This dude - who I've given money to before - rang the same bell here, in several other categories. I don't know about anyone else, but inspiring rhetoric and triangulation calculus is scary.

too bad the media employs the horse race perspective on politics. Edwards has some important things to say about inequality and poverty.

I think he always has his A-game on but the pundits are not shining the light on him. Ladkiddo is right that he's not getting the media attention for the wrong reasons.

From "Update from New Hampshire":
Now we’re watching the debate and all the Democrats are making a good showing for themselves. I feel proud that we have these great candidates representing us. Let’s get one of them elected.
(I'm with you on that!)

You know listening to this clip made me realize that for the first time in a long time the Dems have three highly qualified people running for President and despite my leanings towards Hillary, I would be proud to have anyone of them be my President. Anyone else agree?

I find it interesting that the media seems focused on the conflict between Obama and Clinton. As if there is no one else. Same on the Republican side - Ron Paul seems to be raising lots of money and has more Delegates that Rudy.

Remember <a href="http://www.myleftnutmeg.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=8535" rel="nofollow">the Dodd clock</a> and how candidates were time limited?

Yeah Yeah - I can hear it now so save the typing - but they are not serious candidates - Well - discussion of issues forces all tiers of candidates to recognize issues and frankly deal with them. That is the value of multiple debates with multiple candidates.

Who would have thought a Republican debate where a Republican candidate says he is against the War in Iraq? Same on the Democratic side - Edwards gets to poke at both Clinton and Obama.

In the end we get a strong candidate who, hopefully, reaches a broader audience because they have adopted or incorporated other ideas into their platform.
