Randy Kuhl Mailers - more ambiguous and misleading content.
I’ve got mine. You get yours yet?
Check out Rottenchester’s take on Randy’s SCHIP mailer. As soon as I get my scanner back I might do the same with my mailers. Well done Rotten. Do the same thing with energy bill mailer.
Meanwhile if you got Randy’s Energy bill mailer. The mailer asserts the energy bill which Randy supported
- increased fuel efficiency standards (um Europe is already at 35 mpg, we will get there in 13 years)
- mandated additional production of ethanol (Sure, now food prices go up because we are getting 1.3 units of energy for every 1.0 submitted)
- reduced home energy consumption (Shut off the lights - how is this measured - must be the new light bulbs)
- does not include tax hikes (right - he was against redirecting large tax breaks given to the oil companies to more renewable industries)
You can read my take here. It is worth a reread.
My other question is which is it? Roadblock Randy or Rubberstamp Randy. Deceptive or ambiguous Randy works for me.
I mean didn’t Randy just rail against the 110th Congress and all they do is name post offices. Now the Congress is passing bills like SCHIP and the Energy bill?
You can see the first page of the mailer after the flip

I haven’t gotten an energy bill mailer. When did you get yours?
If Massa can afford it, I think he should send out a counter-mailer…the Kuhl mailers are enraging and you know uninformed voter is going to believe every word of them…ugh make my skin crawl!
I dunno, it’s real early still… Kuhl is getting away with sending taxpayer funded mail, basically for the purpose of campaigning, but I don’t know if it would be a smart move for Massa to start doing mailings… and even if he did what would it be? A straight up “Randy is not being honest with you” or a positive piece?
Either way, I’d probably vote to save money this early on. What do you guys think?
It’s too early. Kuhl is prevented from sending this type of communication near the election so he’s doing it now out of necessity, not because it’s good timing.
