Richardson dropping out
So where do his voters (NY’’s primary is Feb 5th) turn now and who will he endorse?
My off the cuff thoughts are that Edwards gets the most benefit and Richardson doesn’t endorse anyone anytime soon to put himself in a position for an administration job.
Your thoughts?

what is this, the 90’s? seriously though, why would richardson want a cabinet job? hasn’t he been there done that? and feel free to treat this as a stupid question, because in all honesty, i am not up on richardson enough and i could be missing something obvious here.
Like the others, I’m predicting the VP nod is likely.
Richardson is out of a job in 2010 (term limits) so unless he goes back to the ranch (when was the last time someone in the public eye rode off into the sunset) he will be looking for something to do.
Maybe VP slot, maybe something else - there is too much uncertainty for him to endorse right now.
Again all my comments were/are off the cuff.
i understand the thinking on the fly, i was curious because i don’t really know him past his resume. i didn’t even know he was term limited, for example.
i think nixon was the last to ride off into the sunset and that was not exactly voluntary, so now i can see the richardson angle. how about being ambassador to some tropic island nation? that is kind of riding off into the sunset.
Richardson would be an ideal VP candidate for Hillary or Edwards. Not so much so for Obama. If Obama wins the nomination, I think the ideal VP candidate for him would be Biden.
I agree with you, although I am not a big Biden fan.
I was disappointed in Richardson’s campaign but he has proved himself very capable at actually governing. So he might make a very good VP.
And his presence on the ticket would help a lot in the southwest. It might put Arizona in play and effectively lock up NM (it would almost certainly do this) and Nevada.
There’s been a lot of talk about Richardson running for the open senate seat in New Mexico. It recently opened up when Pete Domenici (R) announced his retirement.
I’m glad that I won’t have to hear him repeat his resume over and over in the next debate.
The world is Richardson’s oyster at this point. He is qualified to hold most any government post, has better than average national support, and most importantly, he hasn’t pissed anybody off . Domienici’s seat is his for the asking, VP to Clinton or Edwards is an obvious choice, but what would be the best option is to make him the secretary of state and send him around the world to apologies for the country’s rude behavior over the past decade.
