Randy’s deceptive mailer
After voting against S-CHIP funding not once but twice, before helping force a weak compromised bill that he ultimately voted for, Randy Kuhl sent out a deceptive mailer to his constituents earlier this week. Here’s Rotten on this:
Today I received a glossy, one-page mailer [pdf] from Randy Kuhl. The mailer has one purpose: to emphasize Kuhl’s “Yes” vote on the S-CHIP extension. Under Kuhl’s picture, the words “I VOTED YES” are repeated three times. The mailer was sent using Kuhl’s franking privilege.

I received the same thing yesterday and I sent the following to him via the email function on his website (http:\\kuhl.house.gov):
Your glossy mailer on your vote “for” SCHIP is clearly meant to confuse the electorate in the 29th, and I think you should stop using your franking privileges for such campaigning purposes.
Your carefully chosen wording doesn’t fool informed voters. We know you’re President Bush’s ostomy bag - surgically attached and totally full of fecal material.
I hope that your attempt to play the middle on this shows conservatives you’re willing to continue unnecessary entitlements and shows liberals you aren’t committed to going far enough to help those in need.
Stop wasting my tax dollars on your propaganda, please.
