New Hampshire Results coming in McCain and Clinton win….
As exile once famously said - It’s all about the refresh button (Concord Monitor) or Talking Points Memo
10:55 update
76% in Clinton up 3% and 6576 votes
Obama just gave his concession speech, Clinton is up in a couple of minutes.
WOW - Who would have thought Clinton would have pulled out a victory. Good for her. Frankly, I pleased. Rather than based on a single primary and annointing a person based on results in Iowa and an anticipated sweep in New Hampshire we have a race. Looking forward to NY.
So questions -
When does Richardson drop out and What does Edwards do now?
For the Republicans -
Yo, Mitt what happened?
Rudy - you really did spend a lot of time in NH and what good did it do?
Have fun in the comments……

NBC is saying that Clinton/Obama too close to call. This is getting very interesting.
McCain delcared winner in NH on GOP side.
The question is Rudy who actually spent a lot of time in NH where will he place when it is all said and done. this link shows how much he campaigned in NH (a lot)
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4105498&page=1
I predict he’ll stay at about 9% - couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Did Rudy spend a lot of time in NH? Everything I read said that he’s waiting for the later states, but maybe that’s just to save face.
Yes, he did bank alot on NH…

Andrea - follow the link I provided and JB reposted as well.
ok, sorry. Thought that was a link to the results.
An incomplete sentence - now corrected - thanks
Huckabee’s speech on CNN sounded like the crowd as at a revivial meet with the shouts of “Halleujah!” “God Bless!” - for a minute I thought he was down at the Greece Town Hall delivering his speech…
This page has county-by-county results. The counties where Obama is strong aren’t reporting in as high a percentage as those where Hillary is strong. But it’s going to be closer than the polls said:
http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/states/NH.html
Good link. Thanks! Looks like Richardson is going to be the “spoiler” for not only Clinton, but also Edwards.
They’ve called it for CLINTON.
I’m now hoping for an Edwards win in South Carolina to keep things interesting.
Obama is an incredible speaker.
Hillary needs to smile a bit less….the comparisons to the Batman TV series’ Joker will be revived.
I just heard Matt Dowd call John Edwards the Buffalo Bills of politics.
Ouch.
You know, I’ve never been a Hillary fan, but when those 2 protesters showed up at her event with signs that said “iron my shirts” it was the first time I felt an urge to root for her.
I think the women of NH said the same thing with their votes. “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” I guess. If I was Hillary’s camp I’d start paying people to put out signs like that if it gets women pumping mad.
You do realize the “iron my shirts” incident was nothing more than a radio stunt pulled a Boston station, right? Sort of along the lines of stuff Opie and Anthony or Howard Stern does to give them something to talk about on the air. Nothing more.
The guys are interns from the Toucher and Rich show who are friends of O&A’s and the bit actually goes all the way back to when that golf course/country club that wouldn’t admit women was in the news a number of years back and one of the two front guys for this show did the same thing there. It was one of the earlier videos to go viral online.
I hear you but -
That the “stunt”, “joke”, “attempt at humor”, whatever you want to call it - Is it necessary and the point that maybe it had an effect.
So, have a serious candidate who happens to be a woman - facing folks with signs saying “Iron my Shirts”.
May as well have a sign about being barefoot and in the kitchen and so on. Or something similar for Obama.
Stunt or not - it is ridiculous and, more importantly, perpetuates - stereotypes we can live without.
My point was, it was a stunt meant to draw attention to the idiots that pulled it off - which it obviously has. These guys weren’t doing this to make any sort of political statement along the lines of Code Pink or Save The Earth.
That Clinton supporters (or Obama supporters had something similar been done to him or Edwards, etc, etc.) want to make it into something much more is another matter entirely and in my opinion, without much merit.
But who is running with the story? Are Clinton supporters pushing it? I didn’t see that yesterday and I don’t think it is being pushed. Commenter Andrea or Army42 don’t sound like Clinton supporters in the primary.
At least we agree the sign holders are idiots and their sponsors are idiots. And Frankly I don’t know it was a stunt - so thanks.
The greater point is that the sponsors here choose to perpetuate a stereotype to draw attention.
I’m still not a Hillary supporter, but I’m telling you I had a flash of standing up for womanhood when I saw the story (which at the time mentioned nothing about who the men were affiliated with). I’m just wondering if some women in NH had the same gut reaction just prior to going out to vote. I also think her moment of emotion humanized her for some voters and that had an effect at the last minute.
For the record, I am still in the undecided column for voting in NYS primary.
I also like the theory that the NH results were because the residents of NH get a kick out of doing the opposite of whatever Iowa does, lol.
