In case you missed it…

Welcome to the New Years’ hangover lasted a bit longer than expected edition.

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. As always lots going on.

We had new leadership in Mendon and across Monroe County.

But, let’s turn our attention to June 2006 when we first started. One of the powerful ideas we can do with a blog is to map to previous posts. So, we wanted to share with you some of our earlier posts. Expect more of this but meanwhile visit June, July, Aug, Sept, Oct I, Oct II, Nov or December 2006. Now with our new comment preview feature - the conversatations can be extended.

With the start of Caucus and primary results a few days away - we asked how you were voting for it the New York State primary. But it is one thing to say, it is another thing to do, so our own Ladkiddo and a few friends headed out to New Hampshire to help John Edward’s campaign. Personally, whoever your candidate is - working on a campaign is a great experience. Here are a few reports from the front.

Of course, Iowa was over and we watched the New Hampshire debates- first the GOP then the Democrats and analyzed and over analyzed the results with a little extra analysis tossed in.

But all politics is local and - and it doesn’t get any more local than East Rochester where everyone knows your name. We had a number of posts and comments about ER. There was showing folks how to find their voice, prepping for the organizational meeting. btp had several solid posts that provided factual data about ER - be it their excessive taxes (highest in Monroe County) and credit to Mayor Koon speaking his voice in public. Here is a readers take on the organizational meeting - Here is a summary of the Media reports.

We got a lot of comments this week especially in our East Rochester posts. Then, there was this comment that generated a response from Eric Massa. Got that? A candidate responded on this blog. Good reading to be sure.

Then again - we have insiders trading trying to trade in Tax Liens as the County Finance offices generate yet another one shot wonder to balance the supposedly already balanced budget.

Finally check these shorts.

Wegmans pulls Tobacco - permanently, The D&C had a great editorial about the Public Defender selection mess, possible voter fraud in Victor and Jack Davis is wondering if the third time is a charm against Tom Reynolds

See you next week.

I’ll use this story as its the latest to mention ER. Theres a second editorial piece in the evenings D&C taking a shot at Mayor Koon. Do you folks know what the D&C seems to have against the mayor?

I just saw a blurb on the local stations about “East Rochester Judge defies Mayor’s Order” - what a crock. That so-called judge is Vicky Argento, the SISTER of the ousted Administrator Tony Argento. When the Village Board wasn’t successful at changing the outcome of the CHANGE the people voted for in electing Koon, now they move it to the COURT? She’s in clear violation of her ethics - if this were a case of Koon vs. Argento, she would have to recuse herself, but somehow SHE thinks SHE is ABOVE THE LAW and that the ETHICS LAWS of NYS don’t apply to her?

This would be the same Vicky Argento that built a house in East Rochester so that she could qualify to be a resident and run for office? The same house that sits on FORMER VILLAGE LAND she purchased for ONE DOLLAR? ($1.00)

Impeach her next East Rochester - use a big broom and a hose and clean that dirty town out!

Not really related but sorta. The Democrats were putting out every two weeks or so during the election a flyer in the Penny Saver called I think “The Vision”. I remember when they outted that after Larry Pierce busted the Morabitto’s the largest and most notorious slum lords in town( yes that would be the same Morabitto’s who produced that arrogant ass of a property tax accesor of ours who owns some of these very same rentals)the Morrabitto’s were given the use of ER DPW vehicles and personel to clear out thier slums on the QT at of course taxpayer expense. Well since yesterday morning there has been a ER DPW dump truck parked in the driveway of 408 Madison St. being filled with the contents of the house but this work only seems to go on after 8 at night. Any bets that one of “the families” last names will turn up here?

Well I do know that you can lease a dumpster from the town and they will bill for that. But you would have to FOIL the address to see if that is the case.
