Update from New Hampshire
This, most awesome cat is curled up next to me as we wait for the Democratic Debate to commence. So, I thought I’d give you a brief review of how our day went, here, in Concord, NH.
At 9:45 we arrived at the Bektash Temple in Concord to find seats to view John Edwards as he arrived to address the voters of New Hampshire. Elizabeth showed first with their daughter, Cate and spoke with great poise and conviction. Her admiration for her husband and his platform was apparent as she began her introductions. John’s parents were greeted with enthusiasm by the waiting crowd and John arrived moments later.
John sparkles. I just want everyone to know this. If he was not my guy before today, he is my guy now. From John’s talk:
“We’ll be ok after the primaries. I’ll be ok. Senator Clinton will be ok. Senator Obama will be ok. But will America be ok?”
I could quote Edwards on the issues he addressed, like health-care, education, global warming, the Middle East, and he was eloquent on each, but you can read that on his website. What touched me even more, was this quote which I found posted at the campaign headquarters in Concord:
“This is the cause of my life that will always be. I will speak out for these people as long as I am alive and breathing”
(from the Road to One America, Poverty Tour)
On to lunch-at Cheers where everybody does NOT know your name, but the crab rangoons were delisc. Then canvassing through the streets of Concord. Most people are not home (or at least, not answering the door). When people do come to the door, mostly they are in support of Edwards and the reception has been warm. We meet up with Obama’s “boots on the ground” and compare notes. We agree that we are happy with all the Dem candidates and will work for whomever receives the nomination and it’s a good time to be a Dem.
We go by 2s and are done with our packets in 2hrs. Return to headquarters at 4PM and phone banking till 7PM. Now we’re watching the debate and all the Democrats are making a good showing for themselves. I feel proud that we have these great candidates representing us. Let’s get one of them elected.

Like a couple other people I know, I’m now sorry I didn’t go to NH to work for Obama. I’ve been thinking of jumping in the car to drive to NH, not to work, but simply to see Obama. I did speak with someone in NH and was told that Obama’s events are packed and that driving to see him would be dumb.
So I go onto Obama’s website to order another bumper sticker and a shirt only to find that since Iowa, everything is sold out and I’ll have to wait…probably a long time…oh well.
[...] With the start of Caucus and primary results a few days away - we asked how you were voting for it the NY primary. But it is one thing to say, it is another thing to do, so our own Ladkiddo and a few friends headed out to New Hampshire to help John Edward’s campaign. Personally, whoever your candidate is - working on a campaign is a great experience. Here are a few reports from the front. [...]
