Change Is Hard: Emergency Meeting Tonight In East Rochester
Newly minted Mayor of East Rochester, Jason Koon, has aroused the ire of the entrenched encumbancy. This is what happens when change is in the air, and old-guard networks are threatened. The GOP majority on the town board has called an emergency meeting and are talking about trying to impeach Koon. Meeting details:

I’ve been told that the GOP crony network there is so incensed after years and years of dominance that tonight’s meeting “will be epic”. If you want to show Jason some support, please head on out. I think it’s important that this guy be given a chance before you try to strangle him in the cradle. East Rochester has languished for long enough.
[Update: from some of the stuff I'm hearing about people challenging the ER status quo over the years (tapped phones, death threats, faked police reports), I have to say Koon is one brave guy for trying to effect change in ER. Remember how the national GOP went after Clinton, in their outrage that he won the presidency, which was supposed to be "theirs" from Reagan on? Think along those lines, but small-town-style.]

Well…the ER Republican are trying desperately to circle their wagons. It’s about time they learned that there are more people in the Village that want change and that is why Koon was elected! It’s unfortunate that those who wanted real change could not get just a few more together to vote for the third Dem on the ticket, then things really would have changed! But for now it will be interesting to watch and I think a crowd should show up tonight to let their voices ring out against the “Old Guard”!!! I WILL SEE YOU THERE!!! Go Jason Go!!!

WOW - I don’t know what that was called - but it sure wasn’t Democracy! The reason these people want to retain these jobs becomes clear from watching the crowd - this is an inbred family operation, and David just cut the head off of Goliath. They may as well have done a public flogging - Koon needs support - from all of us. If this GOP version of the Sopranos gets away with this, your town could be next!
