What if every Monroe County Legislature meeting was like this?

The controversial $1 Billion dollar budget was passed on party lines- Surprise, surprise. A community solution proposed by Democrats to restore funding to Suburban schools failed.

I wanted to add that when I walked towards the chamber - my first impression was who the heck are all these people and where have they been? The crowd was overflowing and filling up the outside hallway. Here is a look inside. The place was packed.

I asked the Sheriff deputy at the door if they violated the fire code - she laughed. My guess was yes.
My question is why is there not this level of interest every meeting?

“My question is why is there not this level of interest every meeting?”

Possibly due to the irritating and crushingly dull cadence to the meetings.
Republicans introduce referral, Democrats ask legitimate questions, Republicans arrogantly disregard parliamentary procedure and cut off debate…

Are these all the folks who didn’t show up to the first vote in favor of the intercept, because Maggie and the Republican legislators knew they would love the the intercept plan once they found out more about it, so they didn’t really need to give any notice?

If that kind of crowd continues, Broomarik will start charging admission with all proceeds given to the Friends of Maggie Committee.

To the people who were there - WAY TO GO!
