Or how about, "recognizes that choice of whether to participate in religious activity or not is one of the great choices citizens can make in this country; expresses continued support for all people in the United States and worldwide, whether religious or not; acknowledges the international and historical importance and religions, whether or not they be faith based...etc.?

I hope he gets hit with a lightning bolt. JUDGE NOT Randy - not to mention they are all in violation of the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. They took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and violated their oath and the First Amendment in passing this joke of a resolution.

It's not bad enough this war is killing innocent people on both sides, but now they do this. I'm sure this is going to make the rest of the world real happy with us.

Are they trying to start World War 3? Or are we on 4 now...?

You can bet that the locals, Walsh, Kuhl and Reynolds all voted in favor

Um, guys, Randy didn't just *vote* for the bill, he co-sponsored it.

Just getting back to this after a day in the snow-
Great comments, I like the adjusted resolution-thanks for taking the time. I could even vote for that, but it would have to be at a time when there weren't more pressing matters to attend to.
I'm kind of disappointed in people like John Hall and Kristen Gillibrand. What are they thinking?

How to REALLY sound non-discriminatory:

 "Resolved, that the House of Representatives-
(1) recognizes the non-Christian faiths as some of the great religions of the world;
(2) expresses continued support for non-Christians in the United States and worldwide;
(3) acknowledges the international religious and historical importance of non-Christian celebrations and non-Christian faiths;
(4) acknowledges and supports the role played by non-Christians and non-Christianity in the founding of the United States and in the formation of the western civilization;
(5) rejects bigotry and persecution directed against non-Christians, both in the United States and worldwide; and
(6) expresses its deepest respect to non-Christian Americans and non-Christians throughout the world."

Gee. That proposal doesn't sound a BIT like it came from an American source; it expresses far too much respect for freedom of religious belief.

And we wouldn't want THAT, now would we?

I called Slaughter's office to express my deep concern. I suggest EVERYONE do the same. 585-232-4850.

I didn't believe in UFO's (Dennis Kucinich) but I'm starting to believe in them now, being the fact that something has obvoiusly sucked the brain out of Louise.

"The nine members who voted against the bill - God bless them! - are Reps.
Remind them gently that Jesus was a Jew...and let's figure out a way to recognize all religions and faiths. Hypocrites - all of them.

Gads!

I want my first amendment back as well. I suppose they wet their pants in Greece when they saw that one!
