Mitt Romney, John Lennon
Jerri Kaiser, from the D&C Editorial blog has a post up about Mitt Romney and religion and politics.
Many in our society fear that religion is creeping into the governmental sphere in ways never intended by our founding fathers. Sam Donaldson said that God is invoked when introducing a bill on taxes and that somehow he thinks God is too busy worrying about things other than our taxes. I have similar thoughts when I see sports figures thanking God for their homerun (and why didn’t the opposing pitcher’s prayer matter?).
On the flip side, people like Romney fear that religion is losing its grip in the governmental sphere. Will we ever have a president who publicly states that he/she is agnostic or atheist?
Directly underneath that post is one about John Lennon on the anniversary of his death.
Both are important-check them out. Don’t miss the comments under the John Lennon post. I guess it’s not too much of a stretch to Imagine whose politics I buy into.
