The discreet charm of Mike Gravel

One of the things Stlo and I never manged to communicate properly about YearlyKos was how strangely fascinating we found Mike Gravel. That’s not to say we support many of his policies or think he would be a good president, but he was the only candidate to hang out with the great unwashed (meaning us and the other conventioners) at the Teamsters BBQ. This video captures Mike Gravel’s untamed Alaskan spirit perfectly. I would describe it as a William Shatner Priceline commercial meets the Obama girl video.

Loved it. He’s a Unitarian, you know. Peace.

Awesome. It’s like a Schoolhouse Rock cartoon crossed with Alan Ginsberg.

That’s great. That really sums up what Gravel is all about. You might not agree with him on some things, but you can agree with his desire for two things: Freedom and peace.

He is so cool. Ya gotta love the sixties Peter Maxx theme.

It’s refreshing to see someone make a daring (and awesome) political statement and use their real name.
