In case you missed it… Weekly round-up
Post Thanksgiving edition
Where to start?
Well - let’s start with Monroe County and our surprising $24 million dollar budget deficit. Come to find out it isn’t that surprising because we need more one-shot wonders to balance the budget. That alone isnt’ surprising because that seems to be all this County Administration knows how to do is sell off the family silver. Trouble is it leaves the family (us) poorer. Thank God we have Maggie’s Tax Intercept plan to rescue us right? The tremendous forethought needed to pass this rescue plan in 90 minutes without community involvement balances the budget forever - at least that is what Maggie’s TV and Radio advertisements say - of course because it is on TV or the Radio it must be true. Well, it will unless it costs us more money that it saves. Guess, what it does. Ooops.
Speaking of the unFAIR plan. Brighton Has a meeting, and Monroe County telemarketing calls now count as community involvement.
Then there is Randy off on a South American Congressional sojourn looking for information on ethanol. Randy’s 3 hour tour that would make Gilligan proud. Maybe, if Randy was talking to the Professor about ethanol instead of listening to Ginger and Mr Howell… Well - here is our take. Ladkiddo learns Portuguese then covers Randy’s explanation. The Washington Post gets wind of this (it isn’t kind to Randy) and Ricky Ricardo gives Randy the stare.
Of Course, media consolidation hits home. it isn’t the first time either (reread this August 2006 post)
From the more things don’t change department
Dinolfo gets groomed, COMIDA Disappoints (again), Questions about the Public Defender committee and what was wrong with the last one? The D&C has a new friend, and money is the root of all evil or to not getting anything done politically.
I’ll try to get these up on a weekly basis.

Do you have time to sleep, Stlo7?
LOL - lots of coffee
But there are miles to go before I sleep.
Thanks for this– I’ve been thinking we need to remind folks of what’s been going on since the election, especially with how the unFAIR plan is being shown to be a non-solution.
