Who Will Schumer Piss Off Next?

From a letter in the D&C:

Schumer’s failure was worse by far

After Sen. Charles Schumer’s vote for the “waterboarding supporter” Michael Mukasey to be U.S. attorney general, I called Schumer’s local office and declared that I could no longer vote for Schumer. His vote was an incredible sellout.

Gov. Eliot Spitzer is another situation altogether. Although his plan to license illegal immigrants was ill-advised, it had a purpose and credibility. It intended to identify the hundreds of thousands of alien drivers on New York state roads.

So the objective of one lawmaker was commendable, while the other was insupportable.

That’s kind of where I am.  I’m with stlo7 here, Schumer is driving me crazy. Memo to Schumer: You’re the senior senator in a BLUE state.  You either have more money in your re-election warchest than God, or you can quickly raise it.  STOP knuckling under to Bush’s crazed bullying power grabs!  What have I hired you people for, anyway?

Ditto. I was in a similar place with Hillary some time ago: the political calculations and positioning involved in voting for this war, the Patriot Act, etc., are more than I can accommodate. Same for Louise. They don’t represent ME anymore.
