Alesi, School Superintendents discuss the unFAIR plan

Saw this in the D&C -

Jim Alesi fresh from sponsoring unenforceable feel good bills hosted a meeting with local superintendents regarding the unFAIR plan and what if the schools lost the lawsuit.

From the D&C

Today, Alesi suggested more state aid would be available, but Monroe County Council of Superintendents President Jeff Crane said schools know state aid will not cover the gaps created by the FAIR plan.

Brooks has said the school districts will not suffer from the cuts because they’ve seen record increases in state education aid this year.

Yeah - because the state is simply swimming is excess funds. After its what 4 billion dollar deficit? Maybe they should have discussed what happened if the law suit is won by the schools.

Oh the last line of the article is annoying as well as it simply carries Maggie’s water.

Brooks has said the school districts will not suffer from the cuts because they’ve seen record increases in state education aid this year.

But the schools say the increases are targeted funds for specific programs. So who is wrong? The schools and their open budget process? Or Maggie/Minarik applying lipstick on this pig?

Why was Alesi stepping in for Maggie? Has Maggie called for a meeting with local superintendents?

Jimbo should change his name to Dr. Feelgood. That’s pretty presumptuous on his part to *assume* that they’re right and the schools are wrong. Which tells me that the schools are probably right, since everything in Jimbo land runs in parallel to logic, and is a paradox to what actually IS.

And even *if* in the end he were even partially correct, and the schools were unsuccessful in their litigation, we can expect him to come out and tell us that he’s going to create a new law that provides that children who are educationally challenged as a result of the lack of funding to provide teachers will be protected by his “MyfairHealthfairTextMessageUnfairRoadRageFairYouCan’tCallMeStupid” law that prohibits anyone from telling a child they don’t matter, and will provide jail time to those who dare to call a Monroe County school student dumb.

Of course he’ll have to wait an estimated 6 months before announcing the law to make certain first that schools and students are “truly suffering”, and then envoke the support of Johnny Come Lately in Albany to co-sponsor the bill, to hold a major press conference and tell us all how wonderful he is.

Why does the vision of the “Piped Piper Of Albany” always come to mind with him? Of course now that his hand-picked Mayor of East Rochester was dethroned by Jason Koon, I suppose it’s time to give out some candy in town to remind people that he’s really not a “playa”…he just care about us all. Puke.

I love the “summary” box on the D&C article on this:

    “What’s at stake
The ability of school districts to fund operations this year and in the future.”

The end is near, but have no fear - we’re covering the story. Amazing.
