Mendon Sweeps
Ok guys, for the first time in history Mendon has a Democratic majority on the town board. Unf$%&*ing believable!! Unprecedented!! The supervisor, Ian McNabb, won with 1400+ votes, the contender, Jeff Babcock, was only able to pull in 900+. This is so incredible, I can’t begin to articulate what this means for a 2:1 majority Republican town. So, here they are, I have nothing else to add and I’ve already had 2 beers, and that’s alot for me. Goodnight and be grateful that Mendon rests in the hands of the gentle, and highly qualified Democrats (well, sorta) Now, on to a new Library!

This is a sweet victory, given how important it was for Minarik. How much has he spent over the past four years trying to win this back, both as County and State Republican leader, only to have lost it TOTALLY!
Congrats to the New Team.
I’m really happy for Mendon’s team! Congratulations!
As a general comment to all RT posters … placing a (D) or (R) next to someone’s name would be extremely helpful. Stating party affiliations, even if they are extremely obvious to the writer, is necessary. Why? Because I don’t know as much as you do.
While I appreciate ladkiddo’s excitement, it isn’t until the last sentence that I learn that Democrats won in Mendon. That should be in the first sentence.
Next post: “Brighton. Duh, like there was a question”. I don’t know who won, or who was supposed to win.
Earlier post: “Parma:
Dunn: 2618
Yolevich: 2782″
Can you tell me which one is (D) and which one is (R)? I would like to know, even if I don’t live in Parma. And I don’t know.
I don’t follow other towns as closely as you do.
Thank you, it has been corrected in this post.
And from the rest of the political junkies who know exactly what the score was and know that the difference between a Dunn and a Yolevich is as clear as an elephant from a donkey with a party hat on - THANK YOU - Rochester Turning for such an exceptional job in covering last nights events!
I had the great pleasure of watching & meeting these speed typing bloggers on their laptops in the middle of the action and have to admit - they know their game well - and they brought the action home in Monroe County. Because of their commitment to putting the truth out there - and making sure that the sometimes underhanded, secretive and selective stories the political machine creates are TOLD - and not ignored as they sometimes are by the mainstream media - they change the face of politics here and across New York State in a very good way. The victories of last night are a direct reflection on that!
It was an exciting night for Dems and voters in Monroe County. Thanks to the good people at Rochester Turning who each and every single damned day bring home the truth that help to teach Maggie & Steve-O that as of this morning, the acronym for F.A.I.R. is “For All IS NOT Republican”
…and that my friends…is PRICELESS!
Thanks Jiminy-it was great to meet you!
Here’s the scoop on the Democratic winners in Brighton. Sandy Frankel was reelected Supervisor with better than a 3-1 vote. Ray Tierney was reelected to the Town Board, also with an overwhelming margin. Sheila Gaddis, an attorney, who is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Legal Services Project, a highly acclaimed legal services organization, also won easily for a first term. Sheila has served on the Town’s Planning Board and Budget Review Task Force and is the first suburban African-American Town Board member in Monroe County. This keeps the Town Board in Brighton 5-0 Democratic. Town Clerk Susan Kramarsky and Judge Karen Morris, both Democrats, both won unopposed. Thanks to all of them for running a thorough campaign that reached out to all parts of Brighton to send their message of open government, open space and fiscal responsibility.
Thanks for the complete rundown Bill!
