Westside story
We had a couple comments recently about the lack of media coverage of politics in the westside suburbs. Here’s the first:
realcgreecer: As you list a couple of west side races the problem here is as noted before the D and C gives too little coverage and attention to the contentious nature of politics here. City newspaper is okay up to a point but they do little coverage of the western suburbs. Thus it is hard to make these issues part of a wider public debate
[....]
we need to either put pressure on the d and c to cover this or found our own alternative media for the suburbs.
And then this:
sakredkow: Same story in Gates. I speak only for myself but the D&C is just about completely irrelevent in my life now. No real coverage of westside politics. I get my int’l news from NYTimes and Internet. So I spend about literally 2 minutes on the local page of D&C and the business page. They utterly fail at covering local politics which is the one area at which they might excel. They just don’t care to dig at all. Completely conventional, completely mediocre.
Any other westsiders out there who’d like to chime in about this?

The D&C hasn’t even printed their endorsements for the Parma or Ogden Supervisor races. It’s kind of sad, really.
What’s a “West Side”?
Just kidding, of course. I spend some time there myself - but that’s definitely the attitude I get from the D&C.
as i noted in the previousl thread, it seems like the d and c is very hesitant to criticize auberger. that;s a point I’ve heard many times form republicans as well as democrats. there is I think no way he didn”t have some responsibility in the $25,000,000 assessment scandal. Like another president in IRan contra either he knew and he is a liar or he didn’t and he is incompetent. Maybe both.
Why was he let off the hook there.
[...] says the D&C doesn’t cover the westside? Okay, I think it was me (and nearly all of our westside commenters) that said it. Today, at least, we’ve got this: [...]
