Maggie’s and her lockstep Legislature’s Tax Intercept- Stealing from Dick and Jane and really upsetting Spot
OK -maybe not everyone remembers Dick and Jane and their dog Spot. Those people who learned to read with Dick and Jane are now getting really upset.
Here is another clip of the Democratic Caucus hearing October 11th. I’ve posted Jody Siegel’s (Monroe County School Board Association) and Dr Chris Manaseri (Superintendent of Brighton Schools).

0.41 - the Alliance for Quality Education with the Webster PTA is hosting a Town Hall meeting on October 30 in Webster. We will remind you again before the event
1:30 - The money the state has given the school districts was meant to compliment, not replace funds - so it was not intended to be used to balance the Monroe County Budget.

1:50 - I’m speaking to the Choir - where are the Republicans?
1:58 - “When do the Republicans take public comment”?
2:15 - the influx of funds has specific purposes. (ed note - unlike Maggie’s propaganda machine - it seems to me that the people who run the school districts WOULD ACTUALLY KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, people, like the Superintendents of Schools.)
2:53. Brighton Rocks. It supported other districts in the fight for supplemental funding without dramitic return because it was the morally correct thing to do. (ed note again - Public Schools turning out productive member of society is somehow tied to morals and values? In a word - YES.)
3:30 - the ramrod actions of the Legislature with regards to this package are morally wrong.
3:55 - The Monroe County Legislature is not following the spirit of the Democratic Process. We elect reps to represent us. When they don’t do so we are cheated.
What I like about Rosemary’s comments was that she tied morals into the conversation. I mean, in essence - Why do Maggie Brooks and her Lockstep Legislature hate our kids and why are they willing to toss them under the school bus? Look - Maggie doesn’t hate our kids - but as a constituency - they don’t vote. The issue here is morals and values and do we value the education of our kids? Do we value open and honest government. The School boards have an open and honest democratic process to provide input during budget negotiations.
Apparently the Monroe County Government doesn’t. Sorry - that is wrong, and, in a word, U.N.F.A.I.R.
