Comparing my 2 favorite presidents

Newsweek, this week, gives us an analogy check on Al Gore and Teddy Roosevelt, so following our little thread last week about Al and a possible run for his previously usurped position, I thought I would present it to you:

The Comparison
When Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for his global-warming work last week, it harked back to Teddy Roosevelt, who returned to presidential politics after collecting the prize in 1910. Will Gore also use the honor as a springboard for another run at the White House? One bad omen: the Rough Rider lost the election in 1912.

Yup, lost the election-the American people weren’t so bright back then. Didn’t know a good thing when they had it-hmmmmm, what does that remind you of? Teddy Roosevelt, the last great Republican President, they’ve become so totally lost and corrupt since then.

(just as an asside for those of you who don’t know TR very well-on Oct 14th, 1912 Teddy Roosevelt was shot in the chest and went on to deliver a speech before being treated for his wound. Fortunately for him, he was long winded and his speech was folded up in his breast pocket which helped to slow the bullet)

They say write-in candidates never win! Check out the DFA Pulse Poll and you’ll see write-in candidate Al Gore with about 2000 more votes than runner up John Edwards.

Go Al.
