BREAKING: Spitzer To Announce Midtown Redevelopment Tomorrow

From one of our sources in the county Democratic party:

Spitzer will be in town tomorrow to announce the demolition and redevelopment of Midtown Plaza. The details are still murky, but I know that PAETEC CEO Arunas Chesonis is intimately involved. He is actually a pretty decent guy, despite his donations to gop candidates. It’s my understanding that there will also be economic development projects for places all over the area (the Rochester metro, ie Ontario County perhaps other counties downstate). The costs of redeveloping midtown is very cost prohibitive, so the state, if my understanding is correct, will pick up part or all of the tab in order to make the site development profitable.

Remember kids, you heard it here first.

Hurray for the city! I hear that one of the big problems with the Midtown complex is asbestos, which is apparently very expensive to remove, thereby deterring developers from moving on the site. Its my understanding that if this problem is addressed, we might see a bunch of big time investment firms jump on the real estate.

I think its great we finally have a governor that appears to truly cares (willing to put money behind his rhetoric) about Upstate!

Let’s hope that Ren Square isn’t on the list of improvements. I remain hopeful that Spitzer hasn’t been sucked into the gullible hole of the GOP. Focus Eliot - FOCUS!
