Today 10/12 is the last day to register and change parties so you can vote in the Feb 5, 2008 Democratic Primary
I‘ve already told you how to get an absentee ballot for the 2007 election.
Here is something else.
If you have friends interested in changing parties and voting in the Democratic primary (it doesn’t apply to blanks, or newly registered voters) they need to re-register as a Democrat by October 12th. Here is the form
My friend who switched from Independent to Democrat reminded me a couple of days ago and and I saw it up on TAP today.
So find those Independents who think they are “blanks” , those frustrated Republicans, even the blanks (though they can change later) who carry on extensive conversations with you about which Democrat should get the nod.
Help them participate in the process -
Last day Oct 12th.

Are you sure about this? The Monroe County BOE says that a change of enrollment takes effect following the first general election occurring at least 25 days after a registration form is filed.
This rule helps prevent people from re-registering before a primary for malicious reasons (voting for who they think is the worst candidate, because they’re truly self-affiliated with the opposite Party).
you can change parties once per year - assuming the timing so - to vote in the Dem (or Republican Primary) AND if you are registered in a party; you need to change your registration this year - before the general. It goes in affect after the general
Blanks or newly registered voters in NY can register in Jan.
Gotcha. I wasn’t thinking about the NY presidential primary happening in the Spring, after this Fall’s election. Kind of stupid.
Thanks, that absentee ballot tool reminder really helped me out.
