Flags of our Sons and Daughters
ladkiddo, roving reporter, reporting in, from North River, New York, in the company of Exile and Stlo7, where, once again a field of flags has taken up residence in an out-of-the-way location to remind those of us who traverse the country, that we are, indeed, at war and our service men and women continue to be killed in this war for oil that we should never have started in the first place. the number on the sign is 3,796. It will continue to grow. There is no end in sight, and soon we will need two fields, side by side, as we add those who will be killed as Darth Cheney sets his sights on Iran.

At this point I wonder if Cheney’s heart condition has damaged his brain somehow. Hypertension can damage the brain over time and lead to disorders whose side effects are paranoia. Benswanger’s disease is one such disorder.
What struck me as I looked at the individual flags was that some of the metal posts the flags were attached to were nice and shiny while others were rusty indicated that had been there for a while. Similar to walking through a cemetary and walking past a new grave.
Seemed to crystallize for me that this has been going on way too long and until our leadership in Washington listens to the American people - will gone on longer.
Thank you for that picture and the reinforcement in knowing that the number of people supporting the soldiers and demanding they come home is growing daily. And for reminding us that we must never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
you’re welcome.
