Randy Changes his tune, literally
On Friday, we told you that the song that played on Randy Kuhl’s MySpace page was John Lennon’s socialist/atheist anthem “Imagine.” Well, immediately after we ran our story, they changed the background song to Lee Greenwood’s redneck ballad “God Bless the USA”. Kind of funny, huh?
If you don’t believe us that it used to be “Imagine”, screen capture.

I know it isn’t unusual for non-Congressmen (like my children) to change the music on their MySpace page regularly. So I’m not sure what to make of this.
Furthermore, I’m not even sure what to make of Kuhl’s choice of “Imagine”. You can like the music and want to listen to it without endorsing all of the lyrics.
A while back, there was a reporter Jacob Weisberg at Slate who wrote a piece of shit article about what music is on Hillary’s Ipod, and then interpreted this as a negative statement about Hillary. He said that her choice of music reflected some political calculation to appeal to a certain subset of voters. The idea that it reflected her taste in music seems to have escaped Mr. Weisberg.
So, unless Kuhl comes right out and states that he endorses the lyrics from “Imagine”, I don’t read anything into this.
Isn’t it a little weird to be playing pro-peace music while yakking about how we need to fight the Islamofacists to the death? i thin it is.
Have you ever noticed that when Rethuglicans want to eliminate protections on the environment, they call it the “Clean Waters” or “Clear Skies” bill? Fighting islamofacists is peace to the the right-wing. Up is down. Black is white! We’re the ones who think it is absurd, but to people like Kuhl and his party, it probably makes perfect sense.
