AG Cuomo Not Interested in Clinton’s Senate Seat. Who Is?
The D&C had this little tidbit Wednesday:
New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has no interest in replacing Hillary Clinton as U.S. senator if she is elected president.
“It’s hard for me to imagine a position where I can do as much good as the attorney general,†he told the editorial board of the Democrat and Chronicle during an hour-long meeting today.
Who else would be on the short list of folks up for the seat? Spitzer would be appointing them, so it technically could be anyone. Are all the presidential candiates from Dem-governed states? The current senate needs all the help it can get. Though on paper it looks like a Dem majority, more, and better Dems are needed.

Sean Patrick Maloney!
I know her health is questionable but Louise Slaughter could fill the seat well.
Louise’s next move will be retirement. We need young blood in the Senate.
What’s wrong with nominating BILL CLINTON?
While I thought the Clinton years were pretty good and he did some amazing things–like balancing the budget–I never voted for him.
I’m still not happy with the Monica scandal–some say my standards are too high.
I think youing talent, untainted by years in politics is what we need.
I would call this a “non-denial denial” by the AG. Remember, he was all set up to run for that Senate seat when HRC all of a sudden decided to become a New Yorker. And I think it would please the governor to have Cuomo somewhere other than Albany. My bet is still that Cuomo would go to the Senate.
If Cuomo has presidential aspirations (like his father did) he would certainly be aware that only a couple of presidents have been senators.
So, what’s Mario doing these days?
