Clinton and Schumer vote for opening the door to attack Iran
I heard about this on the radio this morning but could not get around to posting on it until now.
So a few days after both STAND UP and support the first amendment re the MoveOn ad - both STAND DOWN when it comes confronting Bush over the seemingly endless saber rattling with Iran. Both voted for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment.
Think Progress has an excellent rundown of the Kyl-Lieberman amendment (it is an amendment to the Defense Appropriations Bill). If you read the Bill you see that, yes some controversial paragraphs were removed- well, read it for yourself. My opinion? It opens the door to a Bush interpretation that the Senate passed a resolution supporting regime change in Iran.
Gee, this sounds familiar.
Schumer has been down this road before. Have a look at the letter he sent a constituent re WMDs in Iraq. HEY CHUCK YOU GETTING GOOD INTEL ON THIS ONE TOO?
Clinton? Well - I’m disappointed.
Yep give the Bush Administration an inch they take a light-year.
Want to call them up and express your displeasure?
Schumer - (202) 224-6542

What, did they get brain transplants? Insanity must be piped in through the air vents in Washington.
Schumer’s vote surprises me. He’s done so well in this Congress thus far, but this vote really taints that image. Mike Gravel put it best. “I’m ashamed of you Hillary.”
