Brooks Press Conference On Budget Today
Surprise! Not only has an emergency meeting of the County Leg been called, last minute, for tonight, but all of a sudden Brooks will be announcing her Plan to “solve the budget crisis”:
“The county executive is looking forward to discussing her plan to end the budget crisis,†said John Durso, spokesman for Brooks.
Durso would not provide any additional details.
Brooks met this morning with some county lawmakers and supervisors.
All Republicans, by the way. Including, of course, Steve Minarik, who apparently sets policy for the Brooks administration. (I heard someone today say “Maggie is Steve Minarik’s happy face.”)
Guess he’s had time to analyze the results of that push poll they did two weeks ago.
How can she call this a “Community Solution” with a straight face?
And does it strike anyone else as strangely ironic that a last-minute, barely publicized Leg meeting (that’s likely to go behind closed doors to handle this “Matter of Urgency”) is being held at the same time as State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s open government-style forum?
Taxation without representation - that’s what he is. Leave it to “Meatloaf” to push it behind doors. Wouldn’t it be nice if Andrew Cuomo knocked on the door?
Here’s hoping the AG shoves the Sunshine Law where it belongs.
